Note: The number of vacancies is tentative and subject to change based on organizational requirements and other factors.

Type of Commission

  • Short Service Commission (SSC):
    • Flying Branch: 14 years from the date of commissioning.
    • Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical): Initially 10 years, extendable by 4 years based on requirements, vacancies, willingness, suitability, and merit.
  • Permanent Commission (PC): Possible later based on service requirements, vacancies, willingness, suitability, and merit.

Eligibility Criteria

Nationality: Must be an Indian citizen as per the Indian Citizenship Act, 1955.

Age:

  • Flying Branch: 20 to 24 years as of 1st July 2025 (born between 2nd July 2001 and 1st July 2005). Upper age limit is relaxable up to 26 years for candidates holding a valid and current Commercial Pilot License issued by DGCA (India).
  • Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical) Branch: 20 to 26 years as of 1st July 2025 (born between 2nd July 1999 and 1st July 2005).

Marital Status: Candidates must be unmarried at the time of commencement of the course and cannot marry during training.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Flying Branch: Minimum 50% marks in Maths and Physics at 10+2 level and either a graduation (minimum 3 years) with 60% marks, BE/B Tech (4 years) with 60% marks, or equivalent.
  • Ground Duty (Technical) Branch: Minimum 50% marks in Physics and Maths at 10+2 level and a 4-year degree in engineering/technology with 60% marks, or equivalent qualifications.
  • Ground Duty (Non-Technical) Branches: Specific qualifications vary by branch, generally requiring a 3-year graduation with 60% marks or equivalent, or related qualifications.
