Combined Graduate Level Examination, 2024

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) announces the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination for 2024. This examination aims to fill various Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ posts in different Ministries, Departments, Organizations of the Government of India, and various Constitutional Bodies, Statutory Bodies, and Tribunals.

Important Dates:

• Submission of Online Applications: 24-06-2024 to 24-07-2024
• Last Date for Receipt of Online Applications: 24-07-2024 (23:00)
• Last Date for Online Fee Payment: 25-07-2024 (23:00)
• Application Form Correction Window: 10-08-2024 to 11-08-2024 (23:00)
• Tentative Schedule for Tier-I (Computer Based Examination): September-October 2024
• Tentative Schedule for Tier-II (Computer Based Examination): December 2024

Vacancies and Reservation:

• Total Tentative Vacancies: Approximately 17,727
• Reservation: Vacancies are reserved for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, ESM, and PwBD candidates as per Government Orders.
• ESM Reservation: Exclusively for Group “C” posts.

Nationality/Citizenship: Candidates must be:

• A citizen of India, or
• A subject of Nepal, Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came to India before 1st January 1962, or
• A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries, etc.

Age Limit (As on 01-08-2024):

• For posts with age limit 18-27 years: Born not earlier than 02-08-1997 and not later than 01-08-2006.
• For posts with age limit 20-30 years: Born not earlier than 02-08-1994 and not later than 01-08-2004.
• For posts with age limit 18-30 years: Born not earlier than 02-08-1994 and not later than 01-08-2006.
• For posts with age limit 18-32 years: Born not earlier than 02-08-1992 and not later than 01-08-2006.

Permissible Age Relaxation:

• SC/ST: 5 years
• OBC: 3 years
• PwBD (Unreserved): 10 years
• PwBD (OBC): 13 years
• PwBD (SC/ST): 15 years
• ESM: 3 years after deduction of military service from actual age
• Other categories: As specified in the notification

Eligibility for Ex-Servicemen: Ex-servicemen (ESM) who have already secured employment in the civil sector under the Government in Group ‘C’ & ‘D’ posts on regular basis after availing benefits of reservation are not eligible for ESM reservation for subsequent employment. However, such candidates can avail of the ESM reservation for subsequent employment if they immediately provide a self-declaration about their employment details.

An ‘ex-serviceman’ means a person who has served in any rank in the regular Army, Navy, or Air Force of the Indian Union and:

• Has been retired, relieved, or discharged after earning a pension, or
• Has been relieved from service on medical grounds attributable to military service or circumstances beyond control and awarded a medical pension, or
• Has been released from service after completing the specific period of engagement.
