Job Responsibilities:

Access Control:

• Manage access control for men, material, information, and vehicles.
  • Check and deploy adequate manpower for managing access control and property protection within the zone and offshore areas, including static security posts in open sea areas.
  • Ensure the validity of incoming and outgoing vehicles, personnel, and materials both onshore and offshore.
  • Log entries of vessels and ships in offshore and anchorage areas.
  • Log material transitions to and from the zone.
  • Ensure the security of information repositories, including IT hardware and record rooms.
  • Monitor traffic violations within the zone.

Asset Protection:

• Identify critical infrastructure within the zone.
• Identify critical infrastructure in offshore areas, such as Single Point Mooring (SPM), control rooms, and berths.
• Implement adequate security measures for critical infrastructure.
• Ensure security operations adhere to established processes and procedures.
• Manage and handle deviations effectively.
• Ensure the availability and maintenance of security infrastructure.

Situational Awareness:

• Stay informed about special intelligence inputs from internal teams and resources to adjust security levels as needed.
• Respond to alarms raised from the Security Control Room or Port Operation Centre.
• Monitor and be aware of the movement and activities of other fishing and unauthorized boats in offshore areas.

Governance Mechanism:

• Conduct daily briefings for Shift Security Supervisors and guards according to the briefing schedule.
• Implement a system-effectiveness validation mechanism, including special checks and inputs from other functionaries.

Education Requirements:

Necessary:

• Graduate or Army Graduate.
• NCC “B” Certificate.

Desirable:

• Graduate in any discipline.
• NCC “C” Certificate (optional).
• LLB/LLM or knowledge of land law, criminal law, industrial relations, and labor law.
• VIP Protection Courses such as RGSS, SPG, NSG, Defense Services, ISPS, Port Security Protection Course, or Maritime Facility Security Course.

Experience Requirements:

Necessary:

• 10 to 20 years of service in Armed Forces, Para Military Force, or Police.

Desirable:

• 0 to 3 years of experience in security functions.
• Knowledge of security automation and its technical functions.

Skills & Competencies:

1. Thorough site knowledge (topography and layout) and the ability to leverage the team’s key capabilities to achieve desired results.
2. Proactive approach in dealing with exceptions and unusual situations.
3. Resourceful with in-depth knowledge of security documentation, processes, and procedures.
4. Adequate knowledge of marine security and tolerance for maritime facilities protection assignments.
5. At GSOC/SOC, knowledge of security automation systems and technology, ability to work tirelessly at a console, and the ability to observe minute incidents and react promptly.
6. Courage and ability to protect key personnel during personal protection assignments. Knowledge of small weapons and possession of a weapon license is desirable.
