- Reservation Categories: Ex-Servicemen (ESM) are eligible for age relaxation and fee exemption.
- Definition of Ex-Serviceman: Includes retired/relieved/discharged personnel from Army, Navy, Air Force; includes those medically boarded out with pension, Territorial Army pension holders, and others as detailed in para 5.7 of the SSC CGL 2025 notice.

🎖️ Eligibility Criteria for Ex-Servicemen (ESM)
1. Educational Qualification
Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University.
Ex-Servicemen with Matriculate Army Certificate & 15 years of service are eligible for Group “C” posts.
2. Age Relaxation
3 years after deduction of military service from actual age as on 01.08.2025.
Additional relaxations apply for disabled ESM during hostilities (up to 8 years for SC/ST).
3. Fee Exemption
No Application Fee for Ex-Servicemen candidates.
4. Status Requirement
Must have obtained ESM status by the date of application OR will do so within one year from 04 July 2026.
✍️ How to Apply
Register on the new SSC portal – https://ssc.gov.in.
Fill the One Time Registration (OTR).
Upload documents including photograph and signature (or use Aadhaar authentication).
Submit the form before 04 July 2025.
Note: Ensure your ESM certificate is ready in the prescribed format for document verification.
📘 Selection Process
Tier-I (CBT – Objective Type): General Intelligence, Awareness, Math, English.
Tier-II (CBT – Paper-I mandatory): Includes Reasoning, English, Math, Computer Knowledge.
Skill Test / DEST: Mandatory for certain posts (e.g., Tax Assistant).
Document Verification: Must present ESM certificate and original documents.
⚠️ Important Instructions for Ex-Servicemen
ESM who already secured a Group “C” job using ESM quota cannot re-apply using ESM benefits unless they declared it properly before joining.
ESM status must be established within one year of closing date of application.
Sons/daughters/dependents of ESM are NOT eligible under the ESM quota.
